The Headlines:
In the role of an Advanced Electrical Technician, working in Golden, CO, you will be a multi -dimensional craftsperson who is responsible for assuring that all identified critical types of production equipment or production process are maintained in a timely manner and run reliably whenever scheduled. Reliable production runs are essential to produce consistently high-quality products at the lowest unit cost, and for on-time product delivery.
An Advanced Electrical Technician must have the necessary experience; aptitude, attitude, education, and demonstrated skills be the site subject matter expert, understand the complete equipment strategy and lead all operations around the maintenance and reliability of the equipment. This position could require that the individual spend 90 to 100% of time engaged in related responsibilities for this equipment.
The Responsibilities:
Lead the overhaul for specific equipment from plan - execution – post
Participate in the development of the overall plan and execution
Identify the critical sections of the machine that need overhaul during the allotted OH time frame
Lead the execution of the overhaul plan - providing direction to assigned craft
Ensure follow-up on all sections of the equipment that could not be addressed during the OH because of either time or manpower restraints
Works with planners to identify, define, and prioritize work needed to improve equipment reliability
Able to lead or participate in RCM analysis or application of other methodologies to develop equipment maintenance strategies
Demonstrates proficiency in root cause failure analysis and problem-solving techniques to ensure effective repairs on equipment are completed
Contributes to a safe workplace by performing all tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, OSHA, EPA, FDA, and GMP guidelines, such as Lock-out/Tag-out/Try-out, safety rules, confined-space entry, regulations, Codes (building, fire, etc.), and engineering standards
The Other Qualifications:
Must be a minimum 21 years of age
Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be Qualified Electrical Worker and understand all electrical hazards within equipment
Safe use and care of all hand tools (including power) and shop equipment
Safe working knowledge of rigging and lifting devices (e. g. slings, chain-falls, come-alongs, block and tackle, and jacks)
CPR
Reading, interpreting, and "red-lining" electrical and mechanical prints
Must also be proficient in computer programs including SAP, Word and Excel
Principles of lubrication
Basic power transmission devices and rotating equipment (e.g. gears, gearboxes, bearings, seals, etc.)
In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of equipment
Thorough understanding of total equipment strategy and impacts to operations
Aptitude and willingness to teach and coach operators and other craft
Strong interpersonal effectiveness
Able to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
High School diploma or equivalent; associate degree or vocational education preferred.
